Tuition and Registration
It should be clearly understood that although the tuition is paid monthly, it is not calculated by the weekly lesson. Your monthly tuition rate is the same each month even though some months will have 5 lessons and others as few as 3. Holiday closures have been calculated into the monthly tuition rate.
Tuition is based on enrollment. Not attendance.
Morris Music Academy offers open enrollment so you may register for classes at any time. If a student begins lessons in the middle of the month we will prorate for the number of lessons remaining before the beginning of the first full month. The first payment will be charged on the first day of lessons. All remaining payments will be charged on the 2nd day of the month thereafter.
There is a one-time registration fee of $45 for each student and $20 for each additional family member.
The tuition and registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Payments forms
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and ACH/Direct Deposit. For your convenience we also offer automatic billing through MindBody Processing. This is a proven safe, secure and convenient way to pay ongoing fees while enrolled at the school. Upon registering, you will be billed for the registration fee and for the number of lessons remaining in the month. Your credit card, debit card, or ACH/Direct Deposit will then be billed on the second day of the month thereafter.
Late Fees
We have a late payment fee policy of $30 per student. If tuition payments are not received by the seventh day of the month it is considered late and the fee will automatically be applied, no exceptions. It is the students/parents responsibility to ensure we have been provided a valid credit/debit card or ACH information if enrolled in automatic billing.
Declined Payment Fee
There is a $30 fee for any returned checks, in addition to any additional bank charges we incur.
Delinquent Accounts
Morris Music Academy reserves the right to suspend or discontinue instruction of any student who is delinquent in fulfilling his/her financial obligations at any time.
Dismissal
Morris Music Academy reserves the right to dismiss any student due to frequent absences, disciplinary problems, overdue tuition payments and/or parental noncompliance with Morris Music Academy policies.
Insufficient Class Enrollment/Cancellation
If any class has insufficient enrollment Morris Music Academy reserves the right to cancel the course or to offer the class with an adjusted tuition rate, length and/or number of class meetings.
Tardy Arrival
Students arriving late will not have their lesson time extended. Students arriving late by more than half of their lesson period will be considered absent, and their instructor will be dismissed.
Student Absence and Make-Up Lessons
Lessons canceled by the student for any reason cannot be made up, nor will a tuition refund/credit be given. However the studio, at it’s discretion, may offer a courtesy makeup based on the schedule of openings for the week. Many instructors may not have any openings as their schedules are completely full, so courtesy make-up lessons are not guaranteed and may not be offered if unavailable.
In order to be considered for a courtesy make-up lesson, a parent/student must call/email the studio at least 24-hours in advance if a known absence is coming, or ASAP in the case of an unforeseen illness, accident or emergency. If the parent/student does not call/email in advance, no courtesy make-up lesson will be offered.
Student Illness
No students should attend lessons when sick (ie fever, nausea, vomiting, etc). Morris Music Academy reserves the right to dismiss a student from a scheduled lessons if the student arrives at that lesson exhibiting possible symptoms of illness. In this case, a makeup lesson will not be offered.
Withdrawal Policy
There is no long-term contract. To discontinue lessons and suspend automatic charges please notify the front desk in writing one full month prior to the first of the month. Notice given to the instructor only (verbally or otherwise) and non-attendance does not constitute withdrawal from lessons. For example, if you plan to discontinue/suspend lessons in May, then we will need to receive your written notice by the first lesson in April. If no notice is given by the first lesson of the month before lessons are being discontinued/suspended, the student/parent will be responsible for the next full month’s tuition.
Instructor Absences
In the event of an instructor absence, the studio reserves the right to provide a qualified substitute or schedule a timely make-up session for lessons missed. Morris Music Academy reserves the right to replace current instructor with a new qualified instructor.
Inclement weather
If the studio is closed due to inclement weather, students will be invited for special make-ups which could include private or group lessons.
Holiday Closures
Morris Music Academy holiday/break closures mirror those of the Duval County Public School System. These closures have already been calculated as part of the monthly lesson fees. No makeup lessons are given for holiday closures. You will be notified in advance of any exceptions.
Student Drop-off
When bringing your child to music lessons, make sure your child makes it to their lesson and the teacher is present. Do not drop your child off in the parking lot or leave them unattended in the waiting room. The Morris Music Academy nor it’s teachers are responsible for unattended students.
Child Safety
To ensure your child’s safety, children will not be allowed to wait in the reception area unattended. It is expected that everyone wait quietly as to not disturb ongoing lessons. Please do not drop off students more than 10 minutes prior to lesson time and pick them up promptly. Morris Music Academy faculty and staff do not supervise children waiting in the reception area before and/or after classes/lessons. No food, drink or roughhousing is permitted. Behavior that is in any way unruly or disruptive to our students is unacceptable.
